After learning of her mother's surprise wedding, booknerd Beth Bradley sets out on a road trip with her best friends Jetta Finley and Norah Grant. Beth knows first hand that being best friends with somebody who is her polar opposite is challenging, but she doesn't realize how challenging until her trip from Massachusetts to California is erased by Jetta's plan to visit her Oklahoma boyfriend on the way to California. Though the journey is marked by love and laughter, will the odd friendship between Beth, Jetta and Norah survive betrayal, sharp tongues and the boys who threaten everything the three girls have every known?

The idea of this story came about fairly quickly and simply. Brittney and Nikki were both involved in a similar type of collaboration that involved a road trip. That story was on a much larger scale, and they both discussed how they'd like to do something like that again, but something smaller and more managable, so they decided to look for a third writer. The inital premise of the story was developed before they decided to ask Becca, a mutual friend, if she'd like to take part. After she accepted the invitation, they worked together to develop the plot and characters and the first section of the story was written within a couple of days.

All of the chapters from Jetta's point of view are written by Brittney.
All of the chapters from Norah's point of view are written by Becca.
